I just had a brainfart
Yessir, I did. Remember my little problem with law school? Well, I did some reading and found that there are 2 or 3 states in the U.S. where you can take the bar exam without going to law school. This appeals to me for many reasons, especially because the whole point of law school (3-4 years and 120,000 in loans) is to pass the bar and get a job. So why not just cut out the middle man and get to the heart of the matter? I like the direct approach.
I'm flying back to Newark (a lovely city) on Tuesday and spend a month cooling my heels-hopefully I will have something concrete by January 2006, but it looks like I will have to drastically expand the definition of Asiatown.

What's the point of learning American law if all you do is practise Asian "Diplomacy"?
Seriously. Grab a handful of renminbi and a fistful of balls, and give 'em a good squeeze. That's all the law you need.
I find myself far too attuned to Eastern philosophy nowdays. When I was in Hungary and my aunt fretted that my suitcase was too big and Malev may not allow it to be checked in, I asked her innocently: "Can't we just bribe them?" She insisted that they were un-bribe-able. Looks like I need to pick up another skill to make it out there.
It is sad when a person has nothing more to do in life then fine the easy way out of things.
Who said it was easy?
